Convenience Briefing

Connecting the dots in global convenience retail.

I spend much of my time travelling the world of convenience retail — visiting stores, exploring markets, meeting industry leaders and discovering ideas along the way.

Convenience Briefing is where I connect the dots.

What can a retailer in Europe learn from something happening in Asia? Which consumer behaviours are crossing borders? Which ideas are genuinely changing convenience — and which are simply interesting? And what might be coming next?

Think of it as my global convenience radar screen: observations, ideas and examples gathered from around the world, filtered through my own experience and brought together to help make sense of where our industry is heading.

One briefing. Different formats.

Convenience Briefing isn’t one presentation or one piece of content. It changes depending on the audience and the conversation.

On stage

From keynote presentations to conference sessions, I bring together global trends, retail examples and firsthand observations to explore what is changing in convenience retail — and what it could mean for the audience in the room.

In the room

For individual companies and leadership teams, Convenience Briefing can become a more focused conversation or workshop — tailored around a market, strategic question or particular area of interest.

The objective isn’t simply to show what’s happening elsewhere. It’s to ask: What does this mean for us?

What is on my radar?

The subject changes because the industry changes.

My briefings draw on topics including global convenience trends, consumer behaviour, store formats, foodservice, coffee, retail design, technology, mobility, new business models and the changing role of the convenience store.

But the starting point is almost always the same:

What have I seen somewhere in the world that might help us think differently about what happens next?

My global convenience map

Over the years, my work has taken me across 40 countries on all continents — exploring convenience markets, visiting stores, meeting retailers and sharing ideas with audiences around the world. I annually visit more than 20 countries, re-visiting, updating, exploring what’s new, what’s outstanding, what can be learned.

Every market and every visit adds something to the radar screen.

On stages and in boardrooms around the world

From global conference stages to executive boardrooms, I have shared ideas with convenience retailers, suppliers, associations and industry audiences around the world — as a keynote speaker, conference presenter, MC and workshop host.

SELECTED COMPANIES & LEADERSHIP TEAMS

From large conference stages to conversations with individual leadership teams, the format changes — but the purpose remains the same:

Discover what is happening. Connect the dots. Share what might matter next.
